Will
Air Guard - KONK products harm the environment? |
| |
Air
Guard products do not contain CFC or other ozone depleting
substances. |
Is
Konk Insecticide safe? |
The
active ingredient in Konk is Pyrethrin, which is a natural
extract from the chrysanthemum flower. Konk being a natural
product goes back to a natural state and does not remain
on a surface. |
How safe is Konk? |
Konk
insectides products are all approved by Health Canada
and registered under the Pest Control Protection Act.
They are safe and effective when used according to the
label directions. |
Why
is Konk so effective? |
Many
Konk insecticide products contain Pyrethrin, a natural
repellent for flies and mosquitoes. When used with the
KONK dispenser, insects are repelled from entering the
room. KONK has been in the pest control business for more
than 35 years. |
Why
should we use Konk insecticide? |
KONK
Insect Repellent and KONK Insecticides are effective against
mosquitoes that might carry the West Nile Virus. Flies
are well known to harbour over 100 species of pathogenic
organisms and transmit over 65 diseases. KONK insecticide
products are effective against both Flies and Mosquitoes. |
Is
KONK effective in the control of other insects as well
as flies? |
Yes,
the natural insecticide in the chrysanthemum flower,(Pyrethrin)
has been proven to be effective on most insects including
mosquitoes, ants, cockroaches, silverfish, fleas etc.
Some KONK products contain other effective pest control
actives. |

Will
Air Guard harm us breathing it in the air? |
The
American Conference of Government Industrial Hygienists
advise a level of 5 mg/cu. m. of air is unlikely to have
any adverse affects on workers in the Pyrethrin industry,
exposed for a working lifetime - 8 hours a day, 5 days
a week. Air Guard's insecticide - Konk, produces a level
of approximately .006 mg/cu. m. when used in our Actuator
which is 1/850 of the recommended safe level. This is
hundreds of times safer than other common air pollutants
such as cigarette smoke. |
Is
it safer to spray hand aerosols than an Air Guard Dispener?
If
the aerosol contains Pyrethrins, then there is no question
of safety, whether hand held or dispensed. However, when
using a hand held aerosol, consider the following:- an
average 3 - 5 second burst creates a Pyrethrin level equivalent
to the total emitted in 2-1/2 days of our Actuator operation.
Hand spraying usually leaves 90% of the amount sprayed
as a residue on furniture, clothing, carpets etc. |
What
happens to Konk insecticide when dispensed into the air?
A
study carried out at the University of Illinois continues
to prove that the Pyrethrin in Konk degrade along with
the other ingredients used so that there is no detectable
residue found after days of use. |
How
does Konk work as a deterrent to insects? |
Pyrethrins
can be detected by all types of insects and it helps to
keep them from entering a room where it is present. Conversely,
if they are already in the room, they will attempt to
leave. |
Will
I have flies falling on my food when the spray is dispensed?
Flies
pick up small particles of Konk floating in the air on
the hairs of their bodies. This causes them to land on
a wall or try to leave the area to get outside. Therefore
the bodies are found around base boards, on window ledges
or on the floor. |
Do
insects become immune to Konk? |
Since
time began, the chrysanthemum flower has Pyrethrins as
its natural defense against insects. Because it is nature's
natural insecticide, insects do not develop a tolerance
to it. |
Can
Konk be dispensed in food areas such as restaurants? |
Yes,
Konk may be used in a food area provided all instructions
on the label are followed. |
Is
Konk approved by governments for use? |
Konk
has all government approvals for use. |
